摘要:Drawing on social exchange and network structure theories, we investigate how third parties' social network structures are associated with managers' reputations for trustworthiness among their peers. Using a sample of senior managers from a large emergency response firm, we show that a manager's advocate network attributes such as network heterogeneity, nonoverlapping contacts, and network density all play key roles in enhancing a manager's peer reputation. 摘要:We examine the consequences of an often ignored aspect of work group conflict asymmetric conflict perceptions for the effectiveness of individuals and groups. Tests of our multilevel hypotheses using data on 51 work groups showed that group conflict asymmetry (the degree to which members differ in perceptions of the level of conflict in their group) decreased performance and creativity in groups. 摘要:This study examines the effects of three dimensions of network relations on the intergroup level and the performance of strategic initiatives. Findings suggest inverted U-shaped relationships between performance and relational and structural dimensions of networks, and a linear, positive relationship for the cognitive dimension. 摘要:We draw on theories of entrepreneurial firms to explore the impact of top management team (TMT) board control on holding period returns (HPRs). We posit a complex relation between a firm's performance after initial public offering (IPO) and the proportion of TMT members on its board. 摘要:Our theory and findings suggest that relatively negative stock analyst appraisals prompt corporate leaders to increase externally visible dimensions of board independence without actually increasing board control of management. 摘要:This study examines the influence of the structure and composition of a firm's alliance network on its exploratory innovation innovation embodying knowledge that is novel relative to the firm's extant knowledge. 摘要:Although research suggests knowledge spillovers often benefit imitators at the expense of originators, we investigate how originating firms may also benefit from their own spillovers. When an originating firm's spillovers are recombined with complementary knowledge by recipient firms, a spillover knowledge pool is formed, containing opportunities for the originator to learn vicariously from recipients.
