摘要:This study examined relationships among job scope, perceived fit between job demands and ability, and stress. Data on scope and stress were provided by 418 full-time employees. Ratings of job complexity from the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT) and the Occupational Prestige Index (OF) also measured job scope. 摘要:A model incorporating antecedents and outcomes of measures of manager-rated employee affective and continuance commitment was tested with 231 managers and 339 subordinates. Organizational citizenship behavior predicted manager-rated affective commitment, whereas side bets (age, tenure, and education) predicted manager-rated continuance commitment. 摘要:We propose that the use of total quality management (TQM) practices will improve just-in-time (JIT) performance through process variance reduction and reduced rework time and that JIT practices will improve quality performance through problem exposure and improved process feedback. 摘要:This study's premise is that job stressors that threaten an employee's reputation with his or her supervisor are particularly likely to generate anxiety symptoms that carry over from work to home. Thirty-six raters, primarily working accountants, identified job stressors as high or low on threat to reputation. 摘要:This research measured Nicholson and John's concept of the salience of absence climate in terms of absence standards for supervisory groups. 摘要:Recent media choice research has focused on attempts to determine what theory best explains people's choices of communication media. Two within-subject policy-capturing studies support the notion that media richness and social influence theories are complementary rather than competing and that the relative importance of choice factors depends on the medium.
