摘要:We explore the structure and content of developmental networks depicted in 62 National Baseball Hall of Fame induction speeches to identify which developers and what support mattered most to inductees' career achievement. 摘要:The embeddedness of interfirm relationships in a social structure can engender order in new tie formation, but competitive incentives may undermine the order that firms seek to achieve and lead to tie dissolution. 摘要:We consider boards as human groups in the uppermost echelon of corporations and examine how an informal hierarchy that tacitly forms among a firm's directors affects firm financial performance. This informal hierarchy is based on directors' deference for one another. 摘要:We augment transaction cost economics with social cognitive psychology to show that contract framing is an important element in minimizing issues in focal exchanges and managing buyer-supplier relationships. We find that exchange partners use promotion-framed extendibility clauses to address contract duration in the presence of greater physical distance, measurement difficulty, prior relationships in other businesses, and reusable technology. 摘要:Although many scholars believe that intrinsic motivation fuels creativity, research has returned equivocal results. Drawing on motivated information processing theory, we propose that the relationship between intrinsic motivation and creativity is enhanced by other-focused psychological processes. 摘要:Karl Weick's classic study of sensemaking showed that there is much to be learned from a wildland fire. In this tradition, we present an ethnographic tale from the subarctic to introduce the concept of ecological sensemaking-the process used to make sense of material landscapes and ecological processes.
