摘要:We examine whether size-specific experience influences performance following large related, domestic acquisitions. Supporting a transfer theory of learning, our results suggest that although prior experience in making large, related acquisitions transfers positively to this focal situation, experience in making small related acquisitions hurts firm performance. 摘要:On the basis of a qualitative, induction-driven study of six cases, we developed a process model of how former members of defunct organizations found new organizations to sustain valued elements of organizational life. Our model suggests that this process unfolds through four periods of organizing: disintegration, demise, gestation, and rebirth. 摘要:A resource-based theory postulate is that firms must defend their resources against imitation to sustain competitive advantage. However, by deterring imitation, firms may induce rivals to create substitutes. This study shows that, contrary to received wisdom, firms are not uniformly inclined to deter resource imitation. 摘要:Taking emotion and resource perspectives, we examined the daily relationship between customers' mistreatment of employees and employee sabotage of customers, as well as employees' individual- and unit-level emotion-based and resource-based moderators for this relationship. 摘要:This study examines factors influencing CEOs' willingness to provide social support to fellow CEOs who are experiencing significant personal problems (e.g., marital difficulties) and the benefits of support for CEOs who receive it. 摘要:Research on business groups-legally independent firms tied together in various formal and informal ways-is accelerating. Through meta-analytical techniques employed on a database of 141 studies covering 28 different countries, we synthesize this research and extend it by testing several new hypotheses. 摘要:We consider a central puzzle surrounding CEO accountability: What explains the payoffs and penalties that CEOs receive? Invoking Fama's concept of settling up, we examine how a CEO's entire performance record and history of prior over- or underpayment affect current pay and the odds of dismissal. 摘要:Using experience-sampling methodology, we examined within-individual relationships among emotional labor, negative and positive affective states, and work withdrawal, as well as the moderating role of gender. Fifty-eight bus drivers completed two daily surveys over a two-week period, producing 415 matched surveys.
