摘要:Project failures are common. We theorized and found that although time heals wounds (reduces the negative emotions from project failure), it heals differently depending on the strength of individuals' specific coping orientations. Further, wounds are shallower for those who perceive that their organization normalizes failure. 摘要:Through a meta-analysis of 120 independent samples reported in 111 studies, we test the predictions of internalization theory in the context of the multinationality-performance relationship. Findings indicate that multinationality provides an efficient organizational form that enables firms to transfer their firm-specific assets to generate higher returns in international markets. 摘要:Leveraging a longitudinal data set concerning 102 interfirm disputes, we evaluate the effects of contract structure on trust and on the likelihood of continued collaboration. 摘要:We examine how start-of-workday mood serves as an affective prime that relates to how employees see work events, how they feel subsequent to events, and how this felt affect relates to objective performance. Using experience sampling and both archival and coded performance, we tested these relationships in a call center. 摘要:Drawing on social identity theory, we explore the identities, behaviors, and actions of 49 firm founders in the sports-related equipment industry. Our analysis suggests the existence of three pure types of founder identities and shows how these identities systematically shape key decisions in the creation of new firms, thereby imprinting the start-ups with the founders' distinct self-concepts. 摘要:This research advances the construct of competitor acumen, or the extent to which a focal firm's assessment of a given rival's prioritization of its competitors reflects the rival's own view. We propose that the way a firm is embedded within market-engagement relationships shapes the firm's competitor acumen. 摘要:Prior research shows that directors generally lose some, but not all, of their board seats following their association with financial fraud. This study investigates why some boards are more likely than others to dismiss a reputationally compromised colleague. 摘要:The causes of workplace deviance are of increasing interest to organizations. We integrate psychological and neurocognitive perspectives to examine the effects of sleep deprivation on workplace deviance. Utilizing self-regulatory resource theories, we argue that sleep deprivation decreases individuals' self-control while increasing hostility, resulting in increased workplace deviance. 摘要:To understand how firms facing technological discontinuities utilize knowledge from alliance portfolios, we unpack absorptive capacity into latitudinal and longitudinal components, corresponding to use of diverse and distant knowledge, respectively.
