摘要:We examine how firms use the experiential learning of certain supply-side agents-technology solution providers-to overcome technological, organizational, and market-related knowledge hurdles to adopting innovations. 摘要:Little is known about the relationship between industry self-regulation organizations and the diffusion of policy content. Using the organic food industry as a context, this study examines the relationship between local and federated standards-based certification organizations and specific changes in U.S. state laws. 摘要:An investigation of the conditions in which the recruitment of technologically distant scientists results in a significant technological repositioning reveals, on the basis of 2,643 biotechnology industry hiring events between 1973 and 1999, that recruitment is positively associated with repositioning. 摘要:We study the relationship between sales assistant turnover and labor productivity in 325 stores of a large U.K. clothing retailer tracked over 1995-99. We find that the turnover-productivity relationship is contingent on type of work system. 摘要:Drawing from resource-based theory, we argue for a broader interpretation of human capital and demonstrate that unit service orientation contributes to unit effectiveness over time. Operationalizing unit service orientation as the unit-level (n = 1,255) aggregate of individual level (n = 114,198) service employee competencies, we modeled the data over three quarters and found a positive but decreasing relationship between the flow of unit service orientation and changes in unit effectiveness. ...

摘要:In a study of 83 teams from eight organizations, we examined team need for cognition-the tendency to engage in and enjoy effortful cognitive endeavors-as a moderator of the relationships between both age diversity and educational specialization diversity, and elaboration of task-relevant information, collective team identification and, ultimately, team performance. 摘要:Prior studies of multimarket contact have investigated exploitation rather than exploration activities. We contrast effects of multimarket contact on entry and exit dynamics in these two settings and propose that, although in exploitation, firms seek to optimize multimarket contact based on mutual forbearance benefits, in exploration, firms instead seek to reduce uncertainties through mimetic entry and exit.
