摘要:We examined the relationship between the ownership structure and financial performance of 334 Japanese corporations for the 1986-91 period. The positive relationship we found between ownership concentration and financial performance is consistent with agency theory predictions. In addition, we observed a more pronounced profit redistribution effect characterized by the transferring of financial resources from more to less profitable firms. 摘要:We develop a theory wherein the pay of non-CEO executives can be explained by micro-level opportunity structures-the intersection of functional position, CEO background, human capital, and firm strategic resource allocation decisions. 摘要:In a longitudinal, randomized field experiment, we tested the impact of transformational leadership, enhanced by training, on follower development and performance. Experimental group leaders received transformational leadership training, and control group leaders, eclectic leadership training. 摘要:This study tested hypotheses concerning how similarity of personality traits between promotion candidates and their peers and supervisors influences promotion decisions in different work unit cultures. Personality similarity to peers was positively associated with promotion in units with high individualism. 摘要:Research in entrepreneurship and life cycle theories of the firm have both suggested that new ventures may outgrow the managerial capabilities of their founding teams, at which point the founders may be replaced by professional managers. 摘要:We examine the adoption of an organizational practice by subsidiaries of a multinational corporation (MNC) under conditions of institutional duality.
