摘要:Adopting a narrative approach to resource acquisition research, we examine the effects of storytelling on a firm's ability to secure capital. We argue that narratives help leverage resources by conveying a comprehensible identity for an entrepreneurial firm, elaborating the logic behind proposed means of exploiting opportunities and embedding entrepreneurial endeavors within broader discourses. 摘要:We show how knowledge-based and incentive-based perspectives complement each other to explain the effects of acquisitions on the productivity of inventors from acquired firms. Incentive-based theories account for their lower productivity relative to that of inventors at nonacquired firms, and both perspectives jointly explain why their productivity converges with that of inventors from acquiring firms. 摘要:In three experimental studies, we provided an empirical test of how rudeness affects task performance and helpfulness. Different forms of rudeness-rudeness instigated by a direct authority figure, rudeness delivered by a third party, and imagined rudeness-converged to produce the same effects. 摘要:This study reanalyzes data from Tepper's (2000) two-wave study regarding the effects of subordinates' perceptions of supervisory abuse to assess previously unexamined relationships. As predicted, we found that subordinates who more rather than less strongly perceived that they had been abused by supervisors tended to use regulative maintenance tactics with higher frequency. 摘要:Taking a theoretical perspective contrasting resource exploitation with resource exploration, we argue that foreign direct investments' (FDIs') hazard rates are lower in countries that are either more or less developed than a home country than are FDIs' hazard rates in countries of similar economic development.
