摘要:The intrinsically disordered C - terminal peptide region of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 nonstructural protein - 1 (Nsp1 - CT) inhibits host protein synthesis by blocking messenger RNA (mRNA) access to the 40S ribosome entrance tunnel. 摘要:Macromolecular complexes are often composed of diverse subunits. The self - assembly of these subunits is inherently nonequilibrium and must avoid kinetic traps to achieve high yield over feasible timescales. We show how the kinetics of self - assembly benefits from diversity in subunits because it generates an expansive parameter space that naturally improves the expressivity of self - assembly, much like a deeper neural network. 摘要:Tourette disorder (TD) is poorly understood, despite affecting 1/160 children. A lack of animal models possessing construct, face, and predictive validity hinders progress in the field. 摘要:This paper studies the effect of air pollution on voting outcomes. We use data from 60 federal and state elections in Germany from 2000 to 2018 and exploit plausibly exogenous fluctuations in ambient air pollution within counties across election dates. Higher air pollution on election day shifts votes away from incumbent parties and toward opposition parties.
