摘要:Despite the centrality of meaning to institutionalization, little attention has been paid to how meanings evolve and amplify to become institutionalized cultural conventions. We develop an interactional framing perspective to explain the microprocesses and mechanisms by which this occurs. 摘要:We reexamine the assumptions of current theory to update and extend the concept of task complexity to tasks that include multiple actors at any level of analysis. Tasks can be modeled as networks of required actions and information cues carried out or processed by particular actors. 摘要:We examine an intriguing paradox regarding whether interdependencies in an organization's activity system enable or hinder strategic renewal the incremental process through which an organization continuously adapts to the environment and explores opportunities to invoke change in its activity choices and outputs.
