摘要:The ability of three different types of self-report variables-biographical, attitudinal, and stress-to predict 70 months of absenteeism data was evaluated. Absence scores were aggregated in two different ways, as annualized segments and as longitudinal data cumulations. Biographical variables and attitudinal measures significantly predicted long-term absenteeism. 摘要:It was hypothesized that group-level employee lateness assessed before administration of a survey would account for significant variance in post-survey individual lateness beyond that due to individual-level antecedents such as pre-survey lateness, work attitudes, and work-family conflict. 摘要:The extent of role conflict, role ambiguity, and role overload reported by middle managers from 21 nations was related to national scores on power distance, individualism, uncertainty avoidance, and masculinity. 摘要:Researchers have suggested that environmental regulations may deter the entry of firms into industries, and their assertions imply that an advantage is thereby conferred on incumbent firms. Empirical analysis showed that environmental regulations inhibited new firm entry in a variety of manufacturing industries. Implications for affected firms and future research are discussed.

摘要:Four perspectives on the review processes of scientific journals were employed heuristically to examine the AMJ review process from 1984 through 1987. Results indicated modest support for hypotheses derived from accumulative advantage and particularism perspectives and more substantial support for hypotheses derived from gatekeeping and reviewer style perspectives. 摘要:This study examined the role of employee assessments of psychological and material factors in predicting the outcome of a contract ratification vote. The results show that both the material aspects of the contract settlement at hand and how members feel about their union and their jobs have an important impact on the ratification outcome.
