摘要:During early development, female mammals inactivate one X chromosome to balance their X-linked gene dosage with males. While allelic choice is random in inbred mouse populations, choice can be significantly skewed in interstrain hybrids. The genetic basis of skewing has long been attributed to the mysterious X chromosome controlling element(s) (Xce) with different strengths among species, subspecies, and strains. When two X-chromosomes with different Xce strengths are inherited by offspring, t...

摘要:Glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchoring shapes eukaryotic cell-surface architecture and represents an attractive pathway for antifungal intervention. The first committed mannosylation step in GPI biosynthesis is catalyzed by GPI mannosyltransferase I (GPI-MT-I), a membrane-embedded enzyme complex essential for fungal cell-wall integrity and virulence. Despite its therapeutic potential, the molecular basis and chemical mechanism of this lipid-dependent glycosyltransferase have remained unc...

摘要:In multiple sclerosis (MS), spontaneous remyelination occurs in early disease; however, this process becomes inefficient over time, resulting in sustained neurodegeneration and clinical deterioration. It is known that global tumor necrosis factor receptor 2 (TNFR2) deletion in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), the murine MS model, causes a severe nonremitting disease; however, the underlying mechanism is poorly understood. Here, through bulk and single nucleus RNA sequencing, we...

摘要:Although recognizing emotions from facial expressions appears effortless, the field is divided between vision-based accounts, which posit matching to learned visual templates, and embodied accounts, which posit recruitment of facial motor circuits. We propose an ambiguity-gated, developmentally calibrated architecture in which the recognition system draws on sensorimotor information primarily when visual evidence is insufficient, with early motor experience proposed to shape the threshold and ...

摘要:FERONIA (FER) receptor kinase is a critical regulator in balancing plant growth and stress responses. As an active kinase, FER phosphorylates many proteins to regulate their stability, nuclear accumulation, and condensation in diverse biological processes. Phytochrome B (phyB) is a thermosensitive red/far-red photoreceptor that can switch between an inactive Pr and an active Pfr conformer via light-dependent interconversion and temperature-dependent Pfr-to-Pr thermal reversion (Pfr-to-Pr). The...
