摘要:This study of full-time managers and professionals examined whether variables selected from theories of the psychology of gender as well as identity, boundary, and role theories explained effects of sex on work-to-family conflict and positive spillover. 摘要:Using upper echelons theory and the concept of faultlines, we argue that heterogeneity on a board of directors influences discussion of entrepreneurial issues in board meetings. We also propose that meeting context can influence such discussions. Results suggest that tenure variance, firm/industry background heterogeneity, and the proportion of directors with output-oriented backgrounds are positively associated with a board's discussion of entrepreneurial issues. 摘要:It is unclear whether the common finding of improved organizational performance with increasing organizational experience is driven by learning from success, learning from failure, or some combination of the two. 摘要:We theorize that engagement, conceptualized as the investment of an individual's complete self into a role, provides a more comprehensive explanation of relationships with performance than do well-known concepts that reflect narrower aspects of the individual's self. 摘要:In this study, we investigate how trust affects the performance of ongoing teams. We propose a multiple mediator model in which different team processes act as mediating mechanisms that transmit the positive effects of trust to team performance. Drawing on a data set of ongoing tax consulting teams, we found support for the mediated effects of trust via team monitoring and team effort. 摘要:We examine the consequences of an often ignored aspect of work group conflict asymmetric conflict perceptions for the effectiveness of individuals and groups. Tests of our multilevel hypotheses using data on 51 work groups showed that group conflict asymmetry (the degree to which members differ in perceptions of the level of conflict in their group) decreased performance and creativity in groups. 摘要:We draw on theories of entrepreneurial firms to explore the impact of top management team (TMT) board control on holding period returns (HPRs). We posit a complex relation between a firm's performance after initial public offering (IPO) and the proportion of TMT members on its board. HPRs increased modestly as TMT board membership rose to 50 percent, increased dramatically as it rose from 50 to 75 percent (the optimal range), and decreased materially as it rose beyond 75 percent.
