摘要:A dynamical systems approach to turbulence envisions the flow as a trajectory through a high-dimensional state space [Hopf, Commun. Appl. Maths 1, 303 (1948)]. The chaotic dynamics are shaped by the unstable simple invariant solutions populating the inertial manifold. 摘要:The RNA tailing machinery adds nucleotides to the 3 '- end of RNA molecules that are implicated in various biochemical functions, including protein synthesis and RNA stability. Here, we report a role for the RNA tailing machinery as enzymatic modifiers intracellular amyloidogenesis. 摘要:The Hill functions, H-h(x) = x(h)=(1 + x(h)), have been widely used in biology for over a century but, with the exception of H-1, they have had no justification other than as a convenient fit to empirical data. Here, we show that they are the universal limit for the sharpness of any input-output response arising from a Markov process model at thermodynamic equilibrium. 摘要:Encapsulins are protein nanocompartments that regulate cellular metabolism in several bacteria and archaea. Myxococcus xanthus encapsulins protect the bacterial cells against oxidative stress by sequestering cytosolic iron.
