摘要:This study advances research on entrepreneurial orientation and social capital by examining how the configuration of a founding team's intra- and extraindustry network ties shapes the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and new venture performance. Using an original data set of 90 new ventures in the emerging open source software industry, we found that the combination of high network centrality and extensive bridging ties strengthened the focal link. 摘要:Building on behavioral theory, we study when and how firms unlock synergy from acquisitions over extended periods of time. We argue that initial integration is inevitably suboptimal and that, as a result, acquisitive growth decreases an acquirer's performance, eventually forcing it to engage in organizational restructuring to more fully unlock the synergistic potential. 摘要:We examined psychological contract breach and violation as they occur within social exchange relationships to account for employee outcomes. Results of a longitudinal study suggested that contract breach partially mediated the effects of perceived organizational support (POS) and leader-member exchange (LMX) (time 1 measures) on intentions to quit (time 2 measure). 摘要:This study models the choice of exchange partners as a staged process in which a firm first uses status to screen potential partners and then uses reputation to choose a specific firm within the chosen status bracket. 摘要:This study examined the relative effectiveness of three structural approaches to reducing team size. Seventy-one five-person teams engaged in a simulated interactive task in which the approach to downsizing was manipulated. 摘要:Investigating behavioral explanations for the timing of corporate acquisitions, we focus on the effects of performance relative to aspiration level, slack, and proximity to bankruptcy. We used event history modeling to explain the hazard of acquisitions among U.S. manufacturing firms from 1980 to 2000.
