摘要:The importance of an actor's network to his/her private benefits is well explored. Less well understood are the positive externalities of an actor's social capital-that is, whether it spills over and improves the outcomes of those to whom he or she is connected, creating broader, not just private, benefits. 摘要:We develop a contingency theory for how structural closure in a network, defined as terms of the extent to which an actor's network contacts are connected to one another, affects the initiation and adoption of change in organizations. 摘要:Building on the literature on competing logics and the context of local banks, I explore an important outcome for entrepreneurial efforts that is reaching the point of establishment. The embeddedness of founding teams in a community logic makes them more committed and more capable of attracting local support, resulting in greater establishment rates for their enterprises. 摘要:The behavioral agency model suggests that to preserve socioemotional wealth, loss-averse family firms usually invest less in R&D than nonfamily firms. 摘要:A foothold is a small position that a firm intentionally establishes within a market in which it does not yet compete. We extend theory on competitive dynamics to examine relationships between competitor analysis and foothold moves. 摘要:Through an inductive study of six corporate venture capital programs, we unravel how new organizational units resolve competing forces from two different institutional environments.
