摘要：How do independent media affect support for the regime in an autocracy? We carried out two complementary field experiments in Russia at the city and individual levels, randomising access to the country's only independent TV channel before the 2016 parliamentary elections. In both experiments, we find that independent media foster polarisation. They increase turnout and pro-government votes among regime supporters. 摘要：In most countries, during the 2000s and 2010s, house prices rose substantially relative to rents. This trend, however, was not uniform across space or time. 摘要：Although the adoption of third-party policies (i.e., policies targeting non-offending parties to address misconduct by individuals within their control) is growing worldwide, its effect on crime remains unclear. Using Ohio data from 2000 to 2014, this study examines the impact of nuisance ordinances, a policy that penalises landlords for disturbances on their properties. 摘要：This paper examines how political rhetoric shapes law enforcement behaviour. We analyse monthly arrest data from 1,420 police agencies across thirty-eight US states between January 1981 and December 1992, a period when US presidents intensified anti-drug messaging, particularly targeting crack cocaine, which the media disproportionately linked to Black communities. 摘要：We analyse the resilience of community-based institutions to large shocks. Our case study is on forest user groups in Nepal in the aftermath of the 2015 earthquake. We combine remote sensing data with detailed administrative data on forest user groups and exploit spatial variation in the intensity of the earthquake. 摘要：Motivated by the persistent barriers to girls' education-such as long travel distances and safety concerns-we evaluate the impact of a bicycle-distribution program targeting school-going girls living more than 3 km from their schools in rural Zambia. 摘要：This paper examines the economic and political effects of carbon pricing across European regions.
