摘要:This study reexamined the critical relationship between performance and voluntary turnover. A meta-analysis based on 55 studies and a total sample size of 15,138 supported these conclusions: the negative relationship between performance and turnover is robust and unaffected by unemployment rates and the length of time between measurements of the two variables. 摘要:Interview-based measures of ''type A'' behavior and psychological and task-person indexes of job complexity were obtained from 251 police and fire department employees with sound cardiovascular health. Follow-up data on cardiovascular disorder were collected seven years later from participants who had remained with their organizations. 摘要:Two failed congressional attempts to control escalating health costs are examined. The data show that investors apparently anticipated their failure. 摘要:Three studies respectively explored the interactive effects of procedural justice and outcome negativity on the victims of job layoffs, on survivors, and on lame ducks, employees who knew they would soon be laid off. 摘要:A heterogeneous group of 371 men and 361 women provided questionnaire data on 23 job reaction and 24 dispositional variables. Analyses revealed 18 significant differences reflecting traditional gender stereotypes. 摘要:This justice-theory-based study of punishment surveyed supervisors and their disciplined subordinates about specific punishment events. Path analysis results suggested that two personality traits-belief in a just world and negative affectivity-were associated with the subordinates' perceptions of the events. 摘要:This study investigated the association of organizational characteristics with the percentage of management positions held by women in a group of medium-sized to large private sector workplaces. Results support hypotheses derived from resource dependence and institutional theories and illustrate that characteristics of organizations predict a substantial portion of the variation in the percentage of management positions filled by women across industries. 摘要:This research examined the measurement properties of the Miles and Snow perceived environmental uncertainty scale. Results supported the internal consistency of the scale; however, stability as measured by test-retest correlations was inadequate. The scale did not correlate with criterion measures of firm diversification. Implications for measurement of the perceived environmental uncertainty construct are discussed.

摘要:A study of how minority workers' social relationships at work and social-behavioral tendencies influence their health is reported. We observed significant correlates for both blood pressure and self-reports of health. Theoretical, methodological, and applied implications of the results are discussed.
