摘要:Studies investigating the relationship between executive compensation and firm performance, firm size, or both have had consistently low explanatory power. The present study uses Forbes data for 1983-89 and shows that nonparametric models, comparing the ranks of firms within industries, more accurately reflect changes in CEO compensation. There was no support for a linear relationship between performance and such changes but strong support for an increasing, convex relationship.

摘要:This article presents the results of two experiments that investigated fairness and apparent fairness in ultimatum negotiations. Results suggest that offerers-those presenting offers-were bath strategic and exploitative: they made offers that appeared fair only when respondents (potential recipients) had full information about the amounts to be divided or when third parties labeled offers as to their fairness. 摘要:Relationships among levels of involvement between customers and suppliers, customers' evaluations of core and peripheral factors in their transactions, and customers' overall satisfaction were examined. 摘要:This study examined relationships among job scope, perceived fit between job demands and ability, and stress. Data on scope and stress were provided by 418 full-time employees. Ratings of job complexity from the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT) and the Occupational Prestige Index (OF) also measured job scope. 摘要:Cross-cultural international management research is complex, costly, and frequently, nonrigorous. This idiographic study documents the evolution of a multinational, multicultural, interdisciplinary research consortium that sought to remedy this lack of rigor in a project investigating international human resource management practices. We identify key learning points derived from this project and conclude with the rudiments of a midrange theory of a comparative management research methodology.

摘要:It was hypothesized that group-level employee lateness assessed before administration of a survey would account for significant variance in post-survey individual lateness beyond that due to individual-level antecedents such as pre-survey lateness, work attitudes, and work-family conflict.
