摘要:This study examined how the ability to monitor an agent's actions and environmental munificence affect compensation contracts in principal-agent dyads. 摘要:This article reports the results of an ex post study of the effects of leveraged buyouts (LBOs) upon the goals, strategy, structure, and performance of firms. Our study was designed to test arguments that can be logically derived from agency theory. We used a survey to collect data on pre- and post-LBO goals, strategy, structure, and productivity for a sample of 214 firms that underwent buyouts between 1986 and 1989. Our results do not enable us to reject hypotheses based upon agency theory.

摘要:Chief executives in one national and three regional samples participated in a study of the content and structure of their organizational visions. Executives clustered in three groups distinguished by differing orientations to derived factors. 摘要:We examined the impact on the market value of firms' stock of announcements about RandD projects made in the innovation and commercialization stages of the RandD process. Technology- and market-related variables were tested as predictors of the wealth impact of RandD announcements. 摘要:In an extension of research on organizational socialization, the relationship between previous work experience and the tasks and outcomes of the socialization process was examined using a longitudinal field design. The importance of measuring socialization variables longitudinally, beginning at organizational entry, was highlighted. Implications for future research are discussed.

摘要:The relation of age to pay rates for 197 Hispanic, black, and white nonmanagerial workers of both sexes was examined in two organizations. Disparity between the pay rates of women and minority group members, relative to white men, increased with age when organizational tenure, education, and skills were controlled.
