摘要:We develop a dual-tuning perspective concerning how positive and negative moods interact to influence creativity in supportive contexts. Using data on employees in an oil field services company, we hypothesized and found that when supervisors provided a supportive context for creativity and positive mood was high, negative mood had a strong, positive relation to creativity, with creativity being the highest when the context was supportive and both positive and negative moods were high. 摘要:We develop an integrative theory regarding the effects of mean levels and dispersion of satisfaction predicting absenteeism. Differential interactive predictions are derived for two satisfaction foci and tested in two distinct samples. 摘要:Hypotheses derived from face theory predict that the words people use in online dispute resolution affect the likelihood of settlement. 摘要:Using the information asymmetries theory of underpricing, we investigate the role of innovation in the underpricing of initial public offerings (IPOs). We develop and test a model in which patents reduce information asymmetries in industries where the link between patents and inventive returns is transparent, thereby reducing underpricing. 摘要:In three experimental studies, we provided an empirical test of how rudeness affects task performance and helpfulness. Different forms of rudeness-rudeness instigated by a direct authority figure, rudeness delivered by a third party, and imagined rudeness-converged to produce the same effects. Results from these studies showed that rudeness reduced performance on routine tasks as well as on creative tasks. We also found that rude behavior decreased helpfulness. 摘要:This study reanalyzes data from Tepper's (2000) two-wave study regarding the effects of subordinates' perceptions of supervisory abuse to assess previously unexamined relationships.
