摘要：This paper examines the lasting impact of civil conflicts on bilateral trade flows and the subsequent implications for economic recovery. Utilizing a novel estimation approach based on the structural gravity model of international trade, we demonstrate that importers shift their trade preferences away from exporters involved in civil conflicts. 摘要：This paper examines how firms respond to climate change through technological innovation. We emphasize that firms facing climate change are not always those innovating. Instead, innovation occurs either to mitigate a firm's own climate-related damages (internal demand) or to supply climate-related technologies to other firms (external demand). 摘要：This paper provides novel evidence on the impact of a prominent place-based policy-Special Economic Zones (SEZs) - on the economic well-being of African households. Exploiting time variation in SEZ establishment on a dataset of repeated cross-sections of households in 10 African countries during 1990-2020, we show that households living near SEZs become wealthier relative to the national average after SEZ establishment. 摘要：This study examines the impact of air pollution on a universal financial decision that is cognitively less demanding. Based on 281,314 repayment records from a leading P2P lending platform in China, we find that borrowers are more likely to miss their repayments when the scheduled repayment days witness heavier air pollution. 摘要：We study the effect of fertility outcomes on parental well-being in post-reproductive ages.
