摘要：We study the effects of informal social interactions on academic achievement and behaviour using idiosyncratic variation in peer groups stemming from changes in bus routes across elementary, middle and high school. Our results suggest that student interactions outside the classroom-especially in adolescence-may be an important factor in the education production function for both academic and, particularly, behavioural skills. 摘要：We investigate the effect of exposure to refugees on locals' preferences with regard to ethnic minorities using individual-level panel data from the Netherlands. The data combine self-reported preferences with administrative data on the residential locations of the locals and the refugees. 摘要：I develop a signalling model to study how income segregation affects conspicuous consumption when neighbourhood income distributions serve as the reference point for social comparisons, while consumers signal to an outside observer. 摘要：Violence against civilians has killed nearly one million people worldwide and displaced millions more over the past three decades. This paper examines the economic forces driving civilian persecution in Myanmar. 摘要：This paper develops a macro heterogeneous-agent model to quantify the distributional impacts of higher temperatures resulting from climate change in the United States. 摘要：In a randomised field experiment, we provide suggestions about suitable occupations to long-term unemployed job seekers. The suggestions are automatically generated, integrated in an online job search platform and fed into actual search queries. Effects on 'reaching a cumulative earnings threshold' and 'finding a stable job' are positive, large and are more pronounced for those who are longer unemployed. 摘要：To understand the household decision-making process regarding food expenditures for children in poor households in Nairobi, we conduct an experiment with 424 married and monogamous couples.
