摘要:Insertion sequence (IS) elements are the simplest autonomous transposable elements found in prokaryotic genomes1. We recently discovered that IS110 family elements encode a recombinase and a non-coding bridge RNA (bRNA) that confers modular specificity for target DNA and donor DNA through two programmable loops2. 摘要:Carbon storage in Earth's oceans is controlled by deep-sea mixing processes, but the details have proved difficult to test. Ambitious efforts to track ocean mixing using dye have now demonstrated the pivotal role of the sea floor.

摘要:Sponges are the most basal metazoan phylum(1) and may have played important roles in modulating the redox architecture of Neoproterozoic oceans(2).
