摘要:This research examined behavioral styles used by interviewers to confirm their first impressions of job applicants. Three interviewers in a corporate setting formed first impressions based on application blank and test score information. They then conducted autiotaped interviews. 摘要:One hundred and twenty police recruits (probationer constables) being trained at the Metropolitan Police Training Centre in Hendon, England, participated in 1 of 2 occupational simulations, either nonstressful. Twenty of the recruits in each condition were active participants in the event, whereas the other 40 were observers. 摘要:It is first argued that the across-octant conclusions that are usually drawn from F. E. Fiedler's (1967) contingency model of leadership may be problematic, because virtually all its tests have used only within-octant research designs. Across-octant comparisons were therefore made by analyzing data from 1,282 groups used in previous research. 摘要:The author examined configurality in expert and layperson multiattribute judgments in the domain of child abuse. Important differences were found in the configural rules used by the two groups.
