摘要:We present a model that distinguishes among different types of commitments by crossing self-identity levels (collective, relational, and individual) with regulatory foci (promotion and prevention). 摘要:Incompleteness of inductive reasoning presents an enduring dilemma for organizational researchers. We examine two practical reasoning strategies-idealization and contextualization-that can be used at the pinnacle of this dilemma: when theoretical conclusions are drawn from empirical data. 摘要:We draw from legal theory to offer a fundamental rethinking of agency theory along three key dimensions: redefining the principal from shareholders to the corporation, redefining the status of the board from shareholders' agents to autonomous fiduciaries, and redefining the role of the board from monitors to mediating hierarchs. These dimensions contrast with classic agency theory, offering novel conceptions that can inform further theorization and empirical research in corporate governance.

摘要:In this paper we organize research on work-related identities into a four-perspective typology that captures different ways identities can be positive.
