摘要:We examine the role of custodianship in the renewal of the institution of public water services in Detroit, Michigan. Our longitudinal qualitative study begins prior to the 33,000 household water shutoffs of 2014 and follows this ongoing crisis through 2017. 摘要:Over time, markets evolve into particular structures, with clearly defined roles in terms of who does what in the industry. When a firm ventures beyond these established roles, it often gets punished by its exchange partners. 摘要:This study focuses on how scandal shapes the effect of social status in labeling of an alleged violation of rules and norms as misconduct by social control agents. It suggests that organizational status is more likely to be a liability than an asset when alleged violation is part of a multiple-actor scandal. 摘要:Presidential elections reflect societal-level events that expose citizens to large amounts of comparative political information. We suggest that this exposure activates a comparative mindset that changes managers' business decisions in nonpolitical domains. In this state, managers are more likely to select from available options and increase their spending level. Four studies demonstrate this effect. 摘要:In this study, we examine new CEOs' social influence behaviors in leadership transition periods. Taking charge is challenging for new CEOs, particularly when (a) predecessor CEOs stay on as board chairs, or (b) the stock market reacts negatively to new CEO appointments. 摘要:This study examines how target corporate social responsibility affects the economic gains for acquirers, as reflected in market reaction to an acquisition announcement, from two distinct perspectives: stakeholder preservation versus stakeholder appropriation.
