摘要:This paper investigates the strategy for product recommendation. Specifically, we analyze a platform-based market where consumers search and purchase products that potentially differ in quality. 摘要:Live chat tools have emerged as a channel for fostering synchronous communication between sellers and buyers. The role of live chat in the e-commerce environment, however, is largely underexplored. Using granular data from Alibaba, we examine the effect of live chat on consumers' purchase decisions. 摘要:Access to finance is arguably one of the most critical challenges in starting a new business. In this study, we examine how the difficulty of obtaining bank loans based on housing collateral, which is a form of traditional finance, relates to crowdfunding use by entrepreneurs. 摘要:Disciplines that progress faster have a discipline-wide culture of strong inference. Notwithstanding our strong tradition of empirical cumulation, we argue how practicing strong inference can also cultivate greater theoretical cumulation in management information systems studies. We develop and illustrate two philosophy-of-science ideas-nomological rubberbanding and retroduction-to foster it.
