摘要:Motivated by (approximate) dynamic programming and model predictive control problems, we analyse the stability of deterministic nonlinear discrete-time systems whose inputs minimize a discounted finite-horizon cost. We assume that the system satisfies stabilizability and detectability properties with respect to the stage cost. Then, a Lyapunov function for the closed-loop system is constructed and a uniform semiglobal stability property is ensured, where the adjustable parameters are both the ...

摘要:This article proposes a novel robust state estimation method for discrete linear time-invariant systems by using the positive system theory and the set theory to overcome the disadvantages of interval observers and set-valued observers to finally achieve an expected balance between computational complexity and robust state estimation conservatism. The proposed method first transforms the system into an equivalent system with its system matrix in the canonical companion form. Then, based on thi...

摘要:We propose an impulsive stabilization method for delay equations based on a reduction to the center-unstable manifold. Our approach does not make use of the constructions of Lyapunov's direct method, such as Lyapunov functions or functionals. Necessary and sufficient conditions for when a system can be stabilized by impulses are derived based on these ideas, which subsequently lead to impulsive stabilization heuristics that are amenable to implementation in a scientific computing environment. ...

摘要:This article compiles several aspects of the dynamics of stochastic approximation algorithms with Markov iterate-dependent noise when the iterates are not known to be stable beforehand. We achieve the same by extending the lock-in probability (i.e., the probability of convergence of the iterates to a specific attractor of the limiting ordinary differential equation (o.d.e.) given that the iterates are in its domain of attraction after a sufficiently large number of iterations (say) n(0)) frame...

摘要:In the present article, we consider network-based control of linear systems with state multiplicative noise. For the sensor-controller network, round-robin, try-once-discard, and independent and identically distributed protocols are proposed to orchestrate the measurement transmission from multiple sensor nodes. By using the time-delay approach to networked control systems, sufficient conditions for the exponential mean-square stability are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities. More...

摘要:This article studies the contraction issue for stochastic switched impulsive systems (SSISs). The notion of almost sure contraction is proposed for SSISs. By using the first variation, the almost sure contraction is equivalent to the almost sure exponential stability of the virtual dynamics of SSISs. By Ito's formula and martingale theory, criteria on almost sure contraction are established for SSISs. The contraction criteria are also derived by the Lyapunov-like function method. All the crite...

摘要:In two-player repeated games, zero-determinant (ZD) strategies enable a player to unilaterally enforce a linear payoff relation between her own and her opponent's payoff irrespective of the opponent's strategy. This manipulative nature of the ZD strategies attracted significant attention from researchers due to their close connection to controlling distributively the outcome of evolutionary games in large populations. In this article, necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for a payof...

摘要:State estimate of traffic flow of a freeway segment is considered by using the method of boundary observer design. The observer control and measurements are all located at the boundaries. The nonequilibrium traffic flow dynamics are modeled as a Markov jump linear hyperbolic system with phase transitions. Based on the Lyapunov techniques, the sufficient conditions of matrix inequalities are derived for the exponentially mean-square static as well as the dynamic boundary observer design. Using ...

摘要:The problem of output tracking is addressed in this article by a reformulation in terms of a two-point boundary value problem for the plant's zero dynamics, which is allowed to be unstable. On this basis, a hybrid feedback regulator ensuring output tracking is then designed. The robustness properties of the proposed regulator as well as connections with periodic (cheap) optimal control, output regulation, and possible extensions to the nonlinear setting are also discussed.

摘要:This article concerns the solution of a convex optimization problem through the saddle point gradient dynamics. Instead of using the standard Lagrangian as is classical in this method, we consider a regularized Lagrangian obtained through a proximal minimization step. We show that, without assumptions of smoothness or strict convexity in the original problem, the regularized Lagrangian is smooth and leads to globally convergent saddle point dynamics. The method is demonstrated through an appli...
