摘要:In this paper, we argue that geographic location may be one reason why some ventures are able to acquire the resources needed to internationalize while others cannot. We use ecological arguments to predict an inverted U-shaped relationship between the concentration of industry clustering within a geographic location and the venture's internationalization. 摘要:This study investigates product innovation in market-seeking international joint ventures (IJVs) in a large emerging market, and tests two sets of hypotheses: organizational orientation and environmental adaptation. 摘要:This study examines market orientation as the antecedent to strategic human resource management (SHRM), and the related effects on firm performance in an emerging economy context. 摘要:As business transactions become more complex in China - an increasingly market-driven economy - are managers more likely to employ relational ties or contracts? 摘要:We hypothesize that expatriate deployment is a control function predicted by home country culture dimensions with transaction cost and agency repercussions (rather than culture in the aggregate). 摘要:We analyze the advantages and disadvantages of developing-country multinational enterprises (MNEs) in comparison with developed-country MNEs. Developing-country MNEs tend to be less competitive than their developed-country counterparts, partly because they suffer the disadvantage of operating in home countries with underdeveloped institutions. 摘要:The 1997 JIBS paper by Ralston, Holt, Terpstra, and Yu was instrumental in anchoring and extending the construct of crossvergence in cross-cultural research. Ten years on, the paper has lost none of its relevance, and continues to offer important opportunities for further theory development and attendant empirical research. Scope for further work seems to exist especially in three areas: the meaning of crossvergence; national culture and economic ideology; and processes of change.

摘要:Scholars disagree on IB's domain and future prescription, yet agree that research will engage topics dealing with dynamic change and hard-to-explain phenomena. This paper builds on these views, endorsing a multiparadigmatic perspective that complements IB's scientific and humanist paradigms with that of chaos theory. The latter, we argue, is instrumental in studying the non-normal patterns of nonlinear, far-from-equilibrium systems. We illustrate our ideas in the context of NGOs.

摘要:Alan Rugman and co-authors argue that globalisation, and with it global strategy, is a myth. This contention rests on a taxonomy of the world's largest firms based on their sales, showing an overwhelming share of home-regional firms. We question the rationales underpinning their classification scheme.
