摘要:Building on the literature on optimal distinctiveness, this study explores the effects of conformity versus differentiation in corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices on evaluations by security analysts and responses of the financial market in general. We develop the argument that while conformity in CSR scope enhances analyst coverage, differentiation in CSR emphasis leads to more-favorable analyst recommendations and higher market value. 摘要:While prior work has shown that a firm's market performance affects the loyalty of its board, little is known about how corporate social responsibility affects directors' willingness to serve. In this project, we shed light on this question by exploring how social movement boycotts that challenge a firm's social responsibility affect board turnover. 摘要:This study focuses on how scandal shapes the effect of social status in labeling of an alleged violation of rules and norms as misconduct by social control agents. It suggests that organizational status is more likely to be a liability than an asset when alleged violation is part of a multiple-actor scandal.
