摘要：The discrimination literature treats outcomes as relative. But does a differential arise because agents discriminate against others - exophobia - or because they favour their own kind - endophilia? Using a field experiment that assigned graders randomly to students' examinations that did/did not contain names, we find favouritism but no discrimination by nationality nor by gender. 摘要：This article considers the extent to which the federal (fed) funds futures market prepares for Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) announcements. We demonstrate that there is often less variation in fed funds futures prices during the period immediately preceding an FOMC announcement than in earlier periods, despite greater trading activity, as the market has already incorporated anticipated signals. 摘要：We investigate the impact of transport infrastructure on the organisation and efficiency of manufacturing activity. The Golden Quadrilateral (GQ) project upgraded a central highway network in India. Manufacturing activity grew disproportionately along the network. 摘要：We evaluate the impact of increased income uncertainty and financial liberalisation in the US on consumption volatility and household welfare. We estimate Euler equations and measure the volatility of unpredictable changes in consumption as the squared residuals. 摘要：We provide new insights into the relationship between financial market tightness and real activity, using a new database of corporate bonds issued in eight European countries. Bond spreads have a significant negative relationship with four real activity variables at horizons 1-8 quarters ahead. 摘要：We analyse whether a principal's decision to lay off an agent affects the performance of the surviving agents in a laboratory experiment. We find that agents reduce their performance by 43% as a response to the lay-off decision. Heterogeneity in principals' decisions can largely be explained by different beliefs about how agents react to lay-offs.

摘要：We study the relationship between education and fertility, exploiting compulsory schooling reforms in England and Continental Europe, implemented between 1936 and 1975. We assess the causal effect of education on the number of biological children and the incidence of childlessness. 摘要：We present the first laboratory-in-the field experiment on the Italian North-South divide. Using a representative sample of the population, we measure whether regional disparities in ability to cooperate emerge even if differences in geography, institutions and criminal intrusion are silenced. We report that a behavioural gap in cooperation exists: Northern and Southern citizens react differently to the same incentives. 摘要：We examine how modern, polluting industries can affect agricultural productivity. The focus is on large-scale gold mining in Ghana, which is capital-intensive, releases environmental pollutants and is located near agricultural areas.
