摘要:The termination of state agencies has been a prominent aspect of administrative rationalization' programmes arising from the Global Financial Crisis. In this article, the frequency and type of agency terminations that have occurred in Ireland post-2008 are examined in longitudinal perspective. 摘要:This article analyzes whether and to what extent the policy environment of civil servants has an impact on their level of Public Service Motivation (PSM). 摘要:In representative democracies most public administration is actually directed by unelected appointees. These appointees are accountable to voters only indirectly through a minister. In Scotland, many decisions on healthcare provision are made by regional health boards. 摘要:This article examines the use of performance information by public managers. It conceptualizes purposeful data use as a type of extra-role behaviour which requires additional effort on the part of the managers and which is not extrinsically rewarded. 摘要:The existing literature addressing antecedents of public service motivation (PSM) focuses on personal predisposition and institutional shaping. The authors offer a focus that differs from previous studies, arguing that workplace trust as a result of human interaction and personal choice has a bearing on PSM. 摘要:This article tests the impact of two organization-relevant factors, high commitment human resource practices (HCHRP) and work overload on a component of public service motivation, civic duty and employee outcomes (job satisfaction, affective commitment, and quit intentions).
