摘要:Many e-commerce platforms have launched reviewer incentive programs, in which the platforms send free samples to experienced reviewers in exchange for feedback on the samples. This study focuses on an unexplored aspect of this practice: the impact of free samples on reviewers' ratings of subsequently purchased products (i.e., regular ratings). 摘要:We develop a framework to measure the value of free goods and services available on the internet. The conventional method of measuring consumer surplus based on monetary expenditures is ineffective because these goods' prices are predominantly zero.
