摘要:This study analyzes the compensation strategy of firms. We examined differences in the pay and incentives of lower-level managers in firms with different levels of management discretion. We found that firms with higher managerial discretion paid compensation premiums through higher salaries, greater bonuses, and more long-term incentives; however, changes in pay were not related to changes in performance, and high-discretion firms did not perform better than other types of firms.

摘要:The reported research examined the usefulness of placing risk propensity and risk perception in a more central role in models of risky decision making than has been done previously, Specifically, this article reports on two studies that examined a model in which risk propensity and risk perception mediate the effects of problem framing and outcome history on risky decision-making behavior, Implications of the pattern of results for future research are discussed.

摘要:A model incorporating antecedents and outcomes of measures of manager-rated employee affective and continuance commitment was tested with 231 managers and 339 subordinates. Organizational citizenship behavior predicted manager-rated affective commitment, whereas side bets (age, tenure, and education) predicted manager-rated continuance commitment. 摘要:Recent media choice research has focused on attempts to determine what theory best explains people's choices of communication media. Two within-subject policy-capturing studies support the notion that media richness and social influence theories are complementary rather than competing and that the relative importance of choice factors depends on the medium. 摘要:The ability of three different types of self-report variables-biographical, attitudinal, and stress-to predict 70 months of absenteeism data was evaluated. Absence scores were aggregated in two different ways, as annualized segments and as longitudinal data cumulations. 摘要:In this study, we proposed that union members would be more similar in their attitudes toward bargaining-related outcomes during contract negotiation years than union members at other stages of the bargaining cycle. 摘要:This study reviews how repeated measures analysis has been applied and discusses alternative approaches for that type of analysis.
