摘要：We investigate the effect of exposure to refugees on locals' preferences with regard to ethnic minorities using individual-level panel data from the Netherlands. The data combine self-reported preferences with administrative data on the residential locations of the locals and the refugees. 摘要：Recent theoretical and empirical work characterises attention as a costly resource that decision-makers allocate strategically. There has been less research on the dynamic interdependence of attention: how paying attention now may affect performance later. 摘要：The livelihoods of 130 to 270 million people depend on artisanal mining. Artisanal mining is a labour-intensive, often illegal, extractive activity. We combine geological knowledge and a source of exogenous temporal variation to construct the first proxy for artisanal gold mining in Africa-the main form of artisanal mining. 摘要：We evaluate the impacts of a randomised job fair intervention in which jobseekers and employers can meet at low cost. The intervention generates few hires, but it lowers participants' expectations and causes both firms and workers to invest more in search as predicted by a theoretical model; this improves employment outcomes for less educated jobseekers. 摘要：Service inputs significantly influence export costs and firm internationalisation. A new dataset on French firms' participation in global value chains reveals that experienced exporters are more likely to source services at destination and within their group. 摘要：In a common-value environment with multi-stage competition, losing a stage conveys positive news about a rival's estimation of a contested prize, capable of balancing the discouraging effect of falling behind. 摘要：We study the impact of borrower protection on mortgage and housing demand using variation in the likelihood that houses are repossessed coming from heterogeneity in preferences of local judges. We report the results of two online experiments, conducted on the eve of the 2024 US election, in which participants evaluated factual political statements.
