摘要:How plants sense their orientation in relation to gravity and steer their root and shoot growth accordingly is not fully understood. The discovery of key steps needed for this process fills in some of the gaps in our knowledge.

摘要:Amyloid-beta peptides and tau proteins form filaments in the brain in Alzheimer's disease. Using an electron microscopy approach to visualize thin slices of brain tissue in 3D, these filaments can be seen in their native environment.

摘要:Electrode-based electrical stimulation underpins several clinical bioelectronic devices, including deep-brain stimulators(1,2) and cardiac pacemakers(3). 摘要:Repeated interactions provide an evolutionary explanation for one-shot human cooperation that is counterintuitive but orthodox(1-3). Intergroup competition(4-7) provides an explanation that is intuitive but heterodox. Here, using models and a behavioural experiment, we show that neither mechanism reliably supports cooperation.
