摘要:We consider a supply chain where multiple suppliers and a manufacturer contribute to the assembly of a product (through providing components or labor). The product fails if any of its components (or elements of work) fails, but finding the faulty component can be prohibitively difficult. 摘要:This article studies an appointment scheduling problem where a service provider dynamically receives appointment requests from a random number of customers. By leveraging the randomness of the number of potential customers, we develop a nonsequential appointment scheduling policy as an alternative to the conventional first-come-first-served (FCFS) policy. 摘要:Cloud Kitchens are delivery-only facilities that house multiple restaurants. Food-delivery platforms operate such kitchens to exploit two advantages: (a) Location advantage, arising due to a cloud-kitchen's central location-this enables lower delivery times to customers. 摘要:Once autonomous vehicles (AVs) are deployed for ride-hailing platforms, human drivers will compete with AVs until AV costs decrease enough to eliminate human drivers entirely. We examine a ride-hailing platform's strategy to recruit human drivers while operating a private AV fleet. Using a game-theoretic model, we analyze how the platform sets the human-driver wage and the size of its AV fleet.
