摘要：This paper explores the implications for economic recovery of a rural road stimulus program in China that led to the sudden suspension of local matching mandates. The main results reveal that a temporary cost share exemption stimulates short-term income growth in treated villages. 摘要：This study investigates the impact of the abolition of People's Communes in the early 1980s on rural fertility in China. Exploiting the staggered implementation of agricultural decollectivization, we show that decollectivization led to a significant decline in rural fertility, independent of the impact of family planning policies. 摘要：We investigate the presence of gender bias in student evaluations of teaching (SETs) in India using a natural field experiment. In the first two treatments, we randomly assigned 504 students to attend an identical audio-visual lecture, manipulating the perceived gender of the professor. In two subsequent treatments, we provide additional information about the professors' credentials to signal their competence. 摘要：We investigate the impact of tax cascading on upstream and downstream firms. As a natural experiment, we explore a reform that replaced turnover taxes with value-added taxes for service industries in China, which effectively removed tax cascading. We find a relative increase in sales, R&D investment, and employment for affected service firms. 摘要：This paper estimates the impacts of mobile broadband coverage on household welfare in Nigeria. The analysis exploits a unique data set that integrates a longitudinal household survey with information from Nigerian mobile operators on the deployment of mobile broadband internet between 2010 and 2016. Overall, estimates show that mobile broadband coverage had large and positive impacts on household consumption thereby reducing poverty significantly. 摘要：We use unique data on daily labor -market outcomes for Indian casual workers to study labor reallocation between agricultural and non-agricultural activities within rural areas. Controlling for both individual timeinvariant attributes and time -varying shocks, we find that workers who switch sectors across years or even within a week can obtain 23% higher wages by taking non-agricultural jobs. 摘要：Using individual data from over 400 household surveys, this paper compiles a global database of intergenerational mobility in education for 153 countries covering 97 percent of the world's population. Intergenerational mobility in education is estimated to be lower in the average developing country than in the average high-income country.
