摘要:Strategy and innovation scholars have long emphasized the positive role of market demand in driving innovation within a technological domain. This study sheds light on an indirect negative spillover effect of market demand on technological progress: whereas increased downstream market demand within a domain generally drives increased technological progress in that domain (i.e., the demand-relevant domain), it may also adversely affect the technological progress of firms in adjacent domains. Th...

摘要:How well CEOs manage and protect their stakeholders' interests has risen as an important criterion in boards' evaluation of CEOs. Research supports this notion by showing that CEOs who underinvest in corporate social responsibility (CSR) often face bleak job prospects. Therefore, when firms are involved in regulatory sanctions concerning stakeholders' interests, CEOs may face the risk of dismissal, albeit to different degrees because boards may interpret such events in light of their expectati...

摘要:A robust body of literature examines how star inventors influence their firms' innovation trajectories, but how their departure affects firm innovation outcomes is imprecisely understood. Star departure has two kinds of spillover effects on firms: increased coinventor mobility and reduced coinventor performance. In this study, we aim to understand whether and why these spillover effects may systematically differ between stars. We argue that star search behavior influences the nature of embedde...

摘要:This research develops a theory of team adaptation to disruptive events (the extent to which an event transforms usual activities). Our theory is based on a comprehensive investigation of firefighting teams, documenting how disruptive team task changes (i.e., disruptive events) create a lack of correspondence between what team members expect to happen (preexisting task mental models or TMMs) and what is happening in the situation (emergent team situation mental models or TSMs) and the reaction...

摘要:How can a knowledge intermediary support industry development and entrepreneurial entry in countries where it is not present? This study introduces a two-stage model of multi-country entrepreneurial entry via second-order knowledge intermediaries (SOKIs). In Stage 1, SOKIs acquire and develop industry-building knowledge and capabilities from engagement with the activities of carrying, co-creating, capacity building, and convening of a first-order knowledge intermediary (FOKI). In Stage 2, moti...

摘要:Positive work relationships often emerge when coworkers blur the boundaries of their work and nonwork lives in their interactions. A growing body of scholarship suggests that such boundary blurring increasingly occurs in a variety of nonwork settings. However, existing research has drawn mixed conclusions about whether boundary-blurring interactions in nonwork settings lead to beneficial or detrimental outcomes for coworker relationships. Through an inductive study of users of the exercise pla...

摘要:Although prevalent network theories posit that job seekers are motivated to utilize networks for instrumental benefits, we argue that sociopsychological barriers can discourage network use even when access is readily available. We examine this overlooked dynamic by exploring how sociopsychological factors influence network activation among mothers reentering the workforce after child-related career breaks. Analyzing panel data from a representative sample of Korean job seekers, we find that th...
