摘要：The author develops formulas for the first 4 cumulants of the [chi]2 which pertains to a n X 2-fold table and shows how tests of homogeneity can be obtained from them. These formulas may be used when the expected values of some of the cells are less than unity. A numerical application is given pertaining to frequency of cross-over between a number of sex-linked genes in Drosophila subobscura.

摘要：A person counts the occurrences of an event per trial until m successes have occurred and designates the ratio x = m/n, where n is the total number of events. This article proves that an unbiased estimate of the frequency of x is m[long dash]1/n[long dash]1 and that its variance is approx. equal to m(n[long dash]m)/n2(n[long dash]1).

摘要：Seven puerperal patients whose uteri could be felt were chosen, and 6 unpracticed observers measured each uterus twice, the interval between measurements being about 15 mins.
