A person counts the occurrences of an event per trial until m successes have occurred and designates the ratio x = m/n, where n is the total number of events. This article proves that an unbiased estimate of the frequency of x is m[long dash]1/n[long dash]1 and that its variance is approx. equal to m(n[long dash]m)/n2(n[long dash]1).
