摘要:From 2002 to 2004, New York City ceased collecting residential glass and plastic recycling due to city budgetary pressure. We use data on recycling rates in New York City, New Jersey, and Massachusetts in a difference-in-differences (DID) research design to determine whether this exogenous pause weakened previously formed recycling habits. 摘要:Current U.S. law mandates notification of substance-affected infants to state child welfare systems (CWS) for the purpose of assessment and service connections. 摘要:IT modernization reforms seek to improve administrative performance by improving the delivery of program benefits. Performance benefits manifest in a reduction in agency-induced administrative errors, and a reduction in performance gaps between high and low complexity task caseloads. 摘要:Since 2014, millions of Venezuelans have fled to neighboring countries. There is only one accessible land crossing along the Brazil-Venezuela border (Pacaraima) and the Brazilian highway system limits migrants to one route through the Amazon for almost 1000 km. Using this event as a quasi-random treatment, we find that refugee migration increased malaria incidence in Pacaraima, but this was limited to individuals of Venezuelan nationality. 摘要:This paper examines how placement in high-achieving classrooms within high school impacts students' short- and longer-term academic outcomes. Our setting is a large and selective Chinese high school, where first-year students are separated into high-achieving and regular classrooms based on their performance on a standardized exam. 摘要:Despite generous financial aid, military veterans have high rates of undermatch and generally poor postsecondary outcomes. We conducted a large-scale, multi-arm field experiment with the U.S. Army to investigate whether personalized information about postsecondary options and access to advising affects service members' postsecondary choices and outcomes.
