摘要:We consider Bayesian incentive-compatible mechanisms with independent types and either private values or interdependent values that satisfy a form of congruence. We show that in these settings, interim participation constraints are satisfied when the status quo is the randomized allocation that has the same distribution as the equilibrium allocation in the mechanism. 摘要:With complete information, choice of one option over another conveys preference. Yet when search is incomplete, this is not necessarily the case. It may instead reflect unawareness that a superior alternative was available. 摘要:This paper extends the framework of Kajii and Morris (1997) to study the question of robustness to incomplete information in repeated games. We show that dynamically robust equilibria can be characterized using a one-shot robustness principle that extends the one-shot deviation principle. Using this result, we compute explicitly the set of dynamically robust equilibrium values in the repeated prisoners' dilemma. 摘要:This paper formally examines two competing methods of conducting a lottery to assign students to schools, motivated by the design of the centralized high school student assignment system in New York City. 摘要:Preferences may arise from regret, i.e., from comparisons with alternatives forgone by the decision maker. We ask whether regret-based behavior is consistent with nonexpected utility theories of transitive choice and show that the answer is no. If choices are governed by ex ante regret and rejoicing, then nonexpected utility preferences must be intransitive.
