摘要:Partially observable Markov decision processes (POMDPs) provide a modeling framework for a variety of sequential decision making under uncertainty scenarios in artificial intelligence (AI). Since the states are not directly observable in a POMDP, decision making has to be performed based on the output of a Bayesian filter (continuous beliefs); hence, making POMDPs intractable to solve and analyze. To overcome the complexity challenge of POMDPs, we apply techniques from the control theory. Our ...

摘要:We study the joint scheduling of deferrable demands (e.g., the charging of electric vehicles) and storage systems in the presence of random supply, demand arrivals, processing costs, and subject to processing rate limit constraint. We formulate the scheduling problem as a dynamic program so as to minimize the expected total cost, the sum of processing costs, and the noncompletion penalty (incurred when a task is not fully processed by its deadline). Under mild assumptions, we characterize an o...

摘要:This article studies delay compensation in consensus control under undirected graphs via output feedback. The dynamics of each node involved in the network is subject to an unknown bounded actuator delay. A transport partial differential equation is employed to model the dynamics of the delay state, and a filter with adaptive control gains is proposed using the available relative output information of neighboring nodes. Based on the state of the filter, the estimation delay state, and the dela...

摘要:In this article, an anti-disturbance control design is presented for nonlinear systems based on a hybrid disturbance estimation scheme. This scheme features the capability of making full use of the incomplete knowledge on disturbance dynamics. By embedding the known information, the disturbance interval observer is developed to generate boundaries to cover individually each element of external disturbances. Through synthesizing a tangent barrier Lyapunov function-based estimation switching mec...

摘要:For stochastic strict-feedback nonlinear systems with unknown parameters in the drift terms or the diffusion terms, we develop new least-squares identification schemes without regressor filtering. A key new ingredient in the proposed estimator design is a weighted term with design parameters, which is introduced to deal with the nonlinear terms and stochastic noise. With such an estimator, new adaptive controllers are designed to guarantee that the equilibrium at the origin of the closed-loop ...

摘要:This article addresses the problem of checking the accessibility property for nonlinear single-input-single-output retarded time-delay systems with constant commensurable delays, described by higher order input-output functional differential equations. Necessary and sufficient conditions are found to check the accessibility property, and sufficient conditions are found to decompose the system equations into accessible and non-accessible subsystems. The conditions are presented in terms of auto...

摘要:Much recent research on social networks has focused on the modeling and analysis of how opinions evolve as a function of interpersonal relationships. It is also of great interest to model and understand the implications of friendly and antagonistic relationships. In this article, we propose a new, simple and intuitive model that incorporates the socio-psychological phenomenon of the boomerang effect in opinion dynamics. We establish that, under certain conditions on the structure of the signed...

摘要:We consider a setup where a distributed set of sensors working cooperatively can estimate an unknown signal of interest, whereas any individual sensor cannot fulfill the task due to lack of necessary information diversity. This article deals with these kinds of estimation and tracking problems and focuses on a class of simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation (SPSA)-based consensus algorithms for the cases when the corrupted observations of sensors are transmitted between sensors wit...

摘要:This article investigates the distributed secure state estimation problem of distributed systems where a set of agents estimates the state cooperatively in the presence of malicious agents. First, a sufficient condition for the solvability of the distributed secure state estimation problem is proposed. Second, based on the obtained condition, a distributed switched gradient descent (DSGD) algorithm is designed to solve the considered problem which is transformed into a distributed optimization...

摘要:An aggregative game with local constraint sets is studied in this article, where each player's cost function is dependent on the aggregation function that is unavailable to all players. To compute the Nash equilibrium (NE) point of the game in a distributed manner, the players are endowed with several auxiliary state variables that are used to estimate the aggregation function by exchanging their estimates with local neighbors on a directed graph. In the two cases with strongly connected weigh...
