摘要：Using a regression discontinuity design in a sample of U.S. federal special elections, we investigate how donor firms' political wins impact the adaptive responses of their product-market peers in their political activities, with a particular focus on the appointment of politicians to their boardrooms. 摘要：We propose conditions under which two-stage distributionally robust optimization problems are optimally solved in affine or K-adaptable affine decision rules. Contrary to previous work, our conditions do not impose any structure on the support of the uncertain parameters, and they ensure pointwise (as opposed to worst case) optimality of (K-adaptable) affine decision rules. 摘要：We propose deep neural networks for data-driven stochastic optimization. Using historical data (covariates, decisions, costs), we propose to train a neural network to predict the objective value as a function of both the decision and covariate. 摘要：Prior studies draw mixed conclusions on the market response to California SB 826, the first board gender diversity mandate in the United States. We find that these discrepancies stem from two factors: confusion about the legislative process and the use of different return methodologies. 摘要：This paper examines the impact of female analyst coverage on firms' environmental and social (E&S) performance. Exploiting broker closures as a quasi-exogenous shock to analyst coverage, we find that firms experiencing an exogenous decline in female analyst coverage subsequently show a significantly larger drop in E&S scores than those experiencing an equivalent decline in male analyst coverage.
