  摘要：We show that Walter Neumann's strengthened form of Hanna Neumann's conjecture on the best possible upper bound for the rank of the intersection of two subgroups of a free group is equivalent to a conjecture on the best possible upper bound for the number of edges in a bipartite graph with a certain weak symmetry condition. We illustrate the usefulness of this equivalence by deriving relatively easily certain previously known results.

  摘要：Let Q be a circle domain in the Riemann sphere C whose boundary has sigma-finite linear measure. We show that OMEGA is rigid in the sense that any conformal homeomorphism of Q onto any other circle domain is equal to the restriction of a Mobius transformation. Previously, Kaufman and Bishop have independently found examples of non-rigid circle domains whose boundary is a Cantor set of (Hausdorff) dimension one.

  摘要：We estimate the multiplier lambda of a repelling fixed point with rational rotation number for a polynomial in one complex variable. We show that a canonical branch of the logarithm of lambda lies in a small disk tangent to the imaginary axis. The radius of the disk is determined by the degree of the polynomial, the rotation number of the fixed point and the escape rates and external arguments of the critical values.
