摘要:Methods are given for the construction of equireplicate balanced block designs with unequal block sizes using group divisible designs. Balanced designs in which treatments are replicated 25 times or less are tabulated. The plans of these designs can be readily obtained using existing published sources. Some of the designs given here are even smaller than those in balanced incomlete blocks.

摘要:A nonlinear regression model is applied to several sets of enzyme kinetics data, treating the entire regression vector as the parameter of interest. The resulting marginal posterior distributions are presented alongside the usual Student''s t posterior distributions implicit in the usual linearized regression. The prior distribution used is that which is minimally informative about the regression vector. In the special case of the linear model this procedure leads to the prior density 1/.sigma...

摘要:For the proportional hazards model of survival analysis, an appropriate large-sample theory is developed for cases of staggered entry and sequential analysis. The principal techniques involve an approximation of the score process by a suitable martingale and a random rescaling of time based on the observed Fisher information. The score process of the partial likelihood and the maximum partial likelihood estimator behave asymptotically like Brownian motion.

摘要:A common procedure in testing analytical methods is to send a portion of each of a number of samples to each of several laboratories. The results of such a study are submitted to statistical analysis to determine the 2 important variance components in the problem: replication error and laboratory bias. Outliers are relatively common in these data both among laboratory effects and among the residuals. A method of analysis for interlaboratory studies that is robust to the existence of outliers a...

摘要:Pocock (1977), O''Brien and Fleming (1979) and Slud and Wei (1982) have proposed different methods to construct discrete sequential boundaries for clinical trials. These methods require that the total number of decision times be specified in advance. A more flexible way to construct discrete sequential boundaries is proposed. The method is based on the choice of a function, .alpha.*(t), which characterizes the rate at which the error level .alpha. is spent. The boundary at a decision time is d...

摘要:The use of much of the distribution theory developed for order restricted inference has been limited by the lack of algorithms for the level probabilities. An approximation for these, which accounts for the pattern of large and small weights, is developed. This approximation and the equal weights approximation are examined. Both approximations appear to be reasonable for weight sets having a moderate amount of variability. The quality of the equal weights approximation, as a function of the am...

摘要:The efficiency of Midzuno and Sen''s strategy relative to a few estimators based on simple random sampling without replacement is studied under a postulated linear regression model with uncorrelated error and a .gamma.-distributed auxiliary character.

摘要:In many contexts where there is interest in inferring the marginal distribution of a survival time T subject to censoring embodied in a latent waiting time C, the times T and C may not be independent. A new class of nonparametric assumptions on the conditional distribution of T given C and how they lead to consistent generalizations of the Kaplan and Meier (1958) survival curve estimator are presented. The new survival curve estimators are used under weak assumptions to construct bounds on the...
