摘要:Positive Bernoulli and Poisson variables result when the zero class either does not exist or cannot be observed. These tables give the expected value of the reciprocal of such variables for p = .01 to p = .99 and sample sizes from 2 to 30 in the Bernoulli distribution and for means from .01 to 20 in the Poisson distribution. The preparation and use of the tables is discussed.

摘要:In multiple regression problems two popular practices involve fallacies. One is the procedure of eliminating terms whose estimated regression coefficients do not differ significantly from zero. The other is making confidence interval statements about individual coefficients with the implication that the associated probability applies simultaneously to all coefficients. With the purpose in mind of avoiding these fallacies, the author discusses methods of making joint confidence interval stateme...

摘要:This is appendix G of a monograph by these authors on Statistical Problems of the Kinsey Report, where reference is to the first book on the human male. To support various statements made in the body of the report, descriptions of different types of samples and common pitfalls encountered in sample analyses have been discussed at length in this appendix. Practically every aspect of sampling theory has been included. Special attention is given to the concept of probability sampling and to the p...

摘要:This is a review paper covering certain research in the field of regression analysis. Emphasis is placed on problems associated with the presence of autocorrelated errors in dependent variates. Topics covered include general research, tests of significance for autocorrelation, estimation when autocorrelation is present and the use of autoregressive models. A bibliography of 65 references is appended.

摘要:Maximum likelihood estimators of the Poisson parameter applicable to both truncated and censored samples are derived in this paper. Singly and doubly truncated samples are considered. The estimators obtained are presented in simple algebraic forms and their application to practical problems with the aid of standard Poisson tables is illustrated with numerical examples. Asymptotic variances of estimates for the different cases considered are obtained from second derivatives of the likelihood fu...
