摘要:Tropical cyclones (TC) are significant indicators of evolving climate dynamics. Two primary responses of interest are the cyclone frequency and intensity. In this paper we propose a novel integrated modelling framework for simultaneous modelling of TC frequency across several meteorological regions within Australasia. The key methodological insight is to model the second-order properties of multiple integer-valued time series in frequency domain, instead of parametric time domain models. We ta...

摘要:Accurate forecasting of an insurer's outstanding liabilities is vital for the solvency of insurance companies and the financial stability of the insurance sector. For health and disability insurance, the liabilities are intimately linked with the biometric event history of the insured. Complete observation of event histories is often impossible due to sampling effects, such as right-censoring and left-truncation, but also due to reporting delays and incomplete event adjudication. In this paper...

摘要:News outlets are now more than ever incentivized to provide their audi-ence with slanted news, while the intrinsic homophilic nature of online social media may exacerbate polarized opinions. Here we propose a new dynamic latent space model for time-varying online audience-duplication networks, which exploits social media content to conduct inference on media bias and polarization of news outlets. We contribute to the literature in several direc-tions: specialIntscript Our model provides a nove...

摘要:Approaches for estimating genetic effects at the individual level often focus on analyzing phenotypes at a single time point, with less attention given to longitudinal phenotypes. This paper introduces a mixed modeling approach that includes both genetic and individual-specific random effects and is designed to estimate genetic effects on both the baseline and slope for a longitudinal trajectory. The inclusion of genetic effects on both baseline and slope, combined with the crossed structure o...
